8 unit apartment as your new neighbor? Edmonton City Council votes YES!
Restrictive Covenant a valid legal option - Mayor

Last week a motion by Councillor Karen Principe to lower the maximum number of dwellings permitted on midblock lots from eight to six was voted down 8–4 during Tuesday morning’s regular city council meeting.
Mayor Andrew Knack noted that in some neighbourhoods where lot sizes would permit eightplex developments, residents are pursuing restrictive covenants to prevent them from being built.
He added that restrictive covenants are “a very valid legal tool.”
In favour of reducing the number of dwelling units:
R. Clarke

City Council will not protect your neighborhood from developments that negatively impact sunlight, privacy and property values. It is up to you.
